A system (60) configured to determine a characteristic of a patient includes a plurality of sensors (44A-D), wherein each sensor of the plurality of sensors is configured to noninvasively determine a respective parameter of the patient, and wherein the parameter determined by each sensor is different from parameters determined by remaining sensors of the plurality of sensors, and a controller (30) in communication with the plurality of sensors, the controller configured to determine the characteristic of the patient based on at least a first parameter determined by a first sensor of the plurality of sensors and a second parameter determined by a second sensor of the plurality of sensors, wherein the characteristic comprises the first parameter as modified by the second parameter or the second parameter as modified by the first parameter.
