Zusammenfassung:	Described is a flashing a lighting system (1) comprising a plurality of LED illuminators (3) each controlled by a module (4A, 4B) connected to a power supply cable (2) and on which a central control unit (6) sends to the modules (4A, 4B), by power-line-communication, encoded messages for switching on and switching off relative illuminators, carrying out controls and diagnostic operations and performing updates, etc. According to the invention, a repeater device (11) of the encoded messages is inserted in such a way that, during the transmission of an encoded message between the central control unit (6) and one or more or all of the modules (4A, 4B), the "smart" repeater device (11) receives the message and repeats it towards said power/monitoring/control module (4A, 4B) or, respectively, towards the central control unit (6). The smart repeater device can coincide with one of the modules (4A, 4B) or it may be situated inside a relative housing (10), and is connected to the power cable (2) for example by suitable junction box.
