At least one embodiment of a method of managing communication between a first network device and a second network device in a communication network interconnecting a plurality of network devices via a plurality of communication lines, the method comprising: associating the first device with the second device via a communication link; receiving data from the second device via the communication link; constructing a spectrum profile of the communication link during the receiving step; and based on the constructed spectrum profile, determining whether or not the communication link comprises at least two communication lines linked via crosstalk, wherein the receiving step, the constructing step, and the determining step are carried out in the first device.
