COMBUSTION ENGINE, MOTOR VEHICLE AND METHOD FOR OPERATING A COMBUSTION ENGINE

The present invention relates to a method for operating an internal combustion engine (10). An objective of the present invention is to maximally prevent negative actions resulting from activation of an automatic stop function. The internal combustion engine (10) comprises: at least one combustion engine (12) provided with an automatic stop function; a fresh gas line (74); an exhaust gas line (76); and a cooling system. Also, a compressor (98) is integrated in the fresh gas line, and an intercooler (78) is integrated between the compressor (98) and the combustion engine (12). The intercooler is also integrated in cooling circuits of the cooling system and/or is provided with at least one cooling circuit of the cooling system. The cooling circuit includes: cooling channels (26, 28) of the combustion engine (12); and/or a cooler (34) for an exhaust gas turbocharger (20); and/or EGR coolers (38, 40) integrated in exhaust gas recirculation lines (22, 24). Also, during an activated stop function and when the combustion engine does not operate as a result thereof, a refrigerant is transported in the cooling circuit, or if multiple cooling circuits exist, in at least one among the cooling circuits.
