SPRAY BOOM ASSEMBLY

A spray boom assembly (112) for spraying a fluid on an underlying surface is disclosed. The spray boom assembly comprising: a center frame (114) and a left and right boom (120, 122), each coupled to the center frame (114), each boom (120, 122) comprising a first boom frame (126, 128, 130, 132, 134, 136); a first spray section (204, 206, 208, 210) coupled to the first boom frame (126, 128, 130, 132, 134, 136), the first spray section (204, 206, 208, 210) including an elongated spray pipe (212, 418, 420, 422, 424, 426, 428) configured to be fluidly coupled to a fluid source for supplying fluid to be sprayed on a target; a nozzle (116, 214, 442, 720) coupled to the spray pipe (212, 418, 420, 422, 424, 426, 428) and configured to be fluidly coupled to the fluid source, the nozzle (116, 214, 442, 720) including a tip for spraying the fluid; and a first actuator (216, 218, 220, 222, 224, 226, 228, 230, 444, 446, 508, 604) coupled at one end to the first boom frame (126, 128, 130, 132, 134, 136) and at an opposite end to the first spray section (204, 206, 208, 210), the actuator (216, 218, 220, 222, 224, 226, 228, 230, 444, 446, 508, 604) controllably extending and retracting to move the spray pipe (212, 418, 420, 422, 424, 426, 428) and nozzle (116, 214, 442, 720) between a raised position and a lowered position.
