- receiving, by an account manager, a request to deactivate a first account associated with a healthcare provider, where the first account is associated with a plurality of patient accounts and the account manager is implemented as computer executable instructions executing on a computer processor of a server device (18);
- removing, by the account manager, access to data associated with the first account;
- identifying, by the account manager, each of the patient accounts associated with the first account and deactivating each of the identified patient accounts;
- disabling, by the account manager, data synchronization functions, the data synchronization functions being configured to exchange data between a first and a second storage device, the exchanged data belonging to the first account and/or one of the identified patient accounts, the first storage device being part of and/or being operatively coupled to the server device, the second storage device being part of a medical device;
- sending, by the account manager, an electronic notification to a person associated with each of the identified patient accounts, where the electronic notification advises the person that the corresponding patient account has been deactivated; and
