Zusammenfassung:	A sheet printer may comprise a sheet quality detection device and a discharge system arranged to divert rejected sheets into a discharge path (66). When a majority of sheets in the sheet stack in a first input tray (40) are unsuited for printing, the discharge system will discharge said majority of sheets. As most sheets in said input tray are unsuitable, the print productivity is reduced. The present invention prevents this by tracking the number of rejected sheet per input tray. This number is compared to a threshold, and when said threshold has been exceeded, the printer's controller (38) generates an error signal. The error signal is configured to initialize a desired corrective action, such as preventing further sheet feeding from the first input tray, informing an operator, or switching to a different input tray with the same media type as the first input tray.
