Zusammenfassung:	A system for deploying a device to a distal location across a diseased vessel (2), the system comprising: an expandable sheath comprising a sheet-like member (22) having a collapsed configuration (16) and an expanded configuration (26); and a filtering device (64, 68; 84) separate from the expandable sheath, the filtering device (64, 68; 84) configured to be positioned in the diseased vessel (2) at a location to prevent emboli from passing into a tributary vessel of the diseased vessel or to prevent emboli from passing downstream of the expandable sheath, wherein the filtering device (64, 68; 84) has an expanded configuration (64; 84) and a collapsed configuration (68), the filtering device in the collapsed configuration (68) adapted to be delivered through the diseased vessel (2) to the location prior to introduction of the expandable sheath into the diseased vessel and without passage of the filtering device (64, 68; 84) through the expandable sheath.
