Zusammenfassung:	Process for enhanced oil recovery by injecting an aqueous formulation comprising a water-soluble, thickening polymer through an injection well into a subterranean formation and recovering a crude oil-water emulsion from the production well, followed by separating the crude oil-water emulsion into an aqueous phase and a crude oil phase, wherein the aqueous phase is treated oxidatively with molecular oxygen in the presence of ferrous salts and a complexing agent.
