Zusammenfassung:	The present invention provides a method and a device for recognizing an iris, which perform step by step an inspection based on various quality criteria with respect to a plurality of images and perform iris recognition on the image passing through the inspection. According to an embodiment of the present invention, the device for recognizing an iris comprises: an image obtaining part obtaining the plurality of images; and a control part selecting at least one image suitable for the iris recognition among the plurality of images based on pupil information on each of the plurality of images, and performing the iris recognition with respect to the at least one selected image. The pupil information includes at least one of information on a pupil radius and information on a pupil contrast.
