Zusammenfassung:	The invention relates to a turbocharger (1) for an internal combustion engine, having a bearing housing (2) in which a shaft (3) is rotatably mounted, having a turbine housing (15), which is fixed mechanically to the bearing housing (2), and having a turbine wheel (5), which is arranged in a rotationally fixed manner on the shaft (3) and in the turbine housing (5), wherein the turbine housing (15) forms a spiral path (16) arranged radially around the turbine wheel (5), via which an exhaust gas stream can be conducted to flow against the turbine wheel (5), and wherein at least one insulating element (18) is arranged in the spiral path (16), which covers at least part of a spiral path inner wall (16a) and which has an integrated bearing housing heat shield (26) as integral component, for the thermal insulation of the bearing housing with respect to the exhaust gas stream.
