The method comprises estimating a quality of the fuel based on one or more parameters of the engine (102). The method further includes varying an amount of the fuel injected into the engine (102) based upon the quality of the fuel varying from a desired quality value, and modifying a pressure of air to be introduced in the engine (102) for combustion based on the varied amount of the fuel.
