Zusammenfassung:An image forming apparatus (100) to which a cartridge (10) including an electronic storage device (M) can detachably be attached, characterized by comprising: obtaining means (109) for obtaining control information used for image formation from a first area (401, 601) of the electronic storage device and obtaining determination information used to determine correctness of the control information stored in the first area from a second area (402, 602) configured to store the determination information; determination means (120) for determining the correctness of the control information based on the control information and the determination information; and control means (113, 114) for, if the determination means determines that the control information is correct, controlling image formation using the control information obtained by the obtaining means.
