CLOSING DEVICE FOR A DOOR, DOOR ASSEMBLY

The invention relates to a closing device (5) for a door (2), in particular of a motor vehicle, comprising a rotary latch (6) which has a recess (7) for receiving a locking bolt (4), a pivotal locking lever (18) which positively prevents the rotary latch (6) from rotating so as to release the locking bolt (4) in a locked position and which can be pivoted into a release position that releases the rotary latch (6). The rotary latch (6) is arranged in a wet chamber (16) and is rotationally fixed to a latching element (10) arranged in a dry chamber (17) by means of a shaft. The locking lever (18) is arranged in the dry chamber (17) so as to interact with the latching element (10) in order to lock and release the rotary latch (6). The invention is characterized in that the shaft is designed as a hollow shaft (9) and is arranged on a bearing journal (23) which extends beyond the hollow shaft (9) axially on both sides, the ends of the bearing journal being held on a support structure axially in a formfitting manner by plastically deforming the ends.
