Zusammenfassung:	The invention relates to an airbag device (10) for a motor vehicle, which airbag device can be provided on and secured to a seat frame (64) and is designed to protect the head and the rib cage of an occupant in the event of side impact or vehicle rollover. The airbag device (10) has a gas generator, an airbag cushion and a securing system, the securing system, the gas generator and the airbag cushion being connected to one another in order to secure the airbag device to the seat frame. The airbag device (10) also has a tension element, a first end of which is attached to the lower edge of the airbag cushion and a second end of which can be attached to the securing system.
