Zusammenfassung:	Provided is a display device in which a driver IC can be mounted without increasing the machine cost and the manufacturing cost, and also provided is a method for producing the display device. The display device includes a base material, a thin-film transistor layer formed on a first surface of the base material, a display layer formed on the thin-film transistor layer so as to cover the thin-film transistor layer, a first barrier film having an area larger than the display layer and laminated on the display layer and the base material so as to cover the display layer, and driver-mounting electrodes formed on the first surface of the base material; wherein the first barrier film surrounds at least two sides of the periphery of each group of driver-mounting electrodes in plan view.
