Zusammenfassung:	The present invention relates in particular to a head for applying fibres to create components made of composite material, comprising a compacting roller (2) for applying a flat strip formed of one or more fibres to an application surface (S), a heating system (9) able to emit thermal radiation towards the strip, just before application by the application roller, the said compacting roller comprising a central tube (5) and at least one cylinder (3) made of an elastically deformable flexible material assembled on the said central tube, characterized in that the said compacting roller further comprises a metallic exterior layer (6) formed of a metal tape.
