FAST DISCHARGE AND/OR SHUT DOWN UNIT, BATTERY CELL, CELL MODULE OR BATTERY, AND APPARATUS

The present invention concerns a fast discharge and/or shut down unit (30) for an assigned underlying battery cell (10), the battery cell (10) comprising first and second battery cell terminals (11, 12) each having an external side part (14) for externally connecting the battery cell (10), wherein the fast discharge and/or shut down unit (30) comprises first and second discharge contacts (33, 34) and is configured in order (i) to controllably short-circuit said battery cell (10) by controllably electrically connecting said first and second battery cell terminals (11, 12) via said first and second discharge contacts (33, 34) and (ii) to be contacted or contactable with its first and second discharge contacts (33, 34) to said first and second battery cell terminals (11, 12) or with respective first and second terminal lines (15, 16) thereof with a physical and/or spatial separation (40) from said external side parts (14) of said first and second cell terminals (11, 12).
