The radar-sensor (14) detects a first-vehicle (16) and a second-vehicle (18) adjacent to a travel-path (20) of a host-vehicle (12). A distance (26) between the first-vehicle (16) and the second-vehicle (18) defines a parking-space (28). The controller (24) is in communication with the radar-sensor (14). The controller (24) determines the distance (26) before the host-vehicle (12) enters a zone (30) of the travel-path (20) adjacent to the parking-space (28). The zone (30) has a length (32) determined by the distance (26), and the controller (24) determines when the parking-space (28) is large enough to accommodate the host-vehicle (12) based on the distance (26). |
