Zusammenfassung:	A cutter (96) for an assay cartridge, having a base member (26) defining two or more wells (30, 32, 34, 36, 38) and a cap member (86) arranged to carry a pipette (108. 110) positionable in at least two of said wells, has two shearing blades (112, 114, 120, 122) for shearing a foil seal covering one of the wells (34). The two shearing blades are linear and parallel to each other. The cutter has a third blade (118, 126) that extends between the two shearing blades (112, 114, 120, 122), spaced away from the ends of the shearing blades.
