A method for making a component (10) includes forming (210) the component (10), the component (10) including an internal volume (15) and an outer surface (14). The method further includes forming (220) a plurality of fiducial markers (12) on the component (10), wherein each of the plurality of fiducial markers (12) is a depression defined in the component (10).
