Said metering device comprises a conveying device (11) which is mounted so it can rotate in a housing (1), said conveying device interacting with a housing wall or a guide element such that granular material can be conveyed from a receiving area into a discharge area. The housing (1) is connected to a storage container (3) for supplying granular material, a return line (4) leading from the housing into the storage container (3).
