Zusammenfassung:The invention relates to a fiducial marker (1; 21), in particular for determination of position and/or orientation in medical imaging systems and/or in machine arrangements comprising movable parts, wherein the fiducial marker (1; 21) comprises a pattern (2), the position and/or orientation of which is to be determined. The pattern (2) is transparent and the fiducial marker (1; 21) comprises a radiation source (3; 23) connected directly and/or indirectly with the pattern (2). During operation, radiation emitted by the radiation source (3; 23) is transmitted through the pattern (2) from a back side to a front side of the pattern (2).
