A point cloud generator (23) generates (10) a point cloud of the object from a sequence of images. An alignment processor (24) coarsely aligns (11) a dummy mesh model of the object with the point cloud. A transformation processor (25) fits (12) the dummy mesh model of the object to the point cloud through an elastic transformation of the coarsely aligned dummy mesh model.
