Zusammenfassung:A brake device (3) comprises: an outer race (10) having a cylindrical inner peripheral surface (11); a plurality of brake shoes (20) disposed inside, with respect to a radial direction, of the outer race (10) and arranged in a circumferential direction, each brake shoe having a pair of brake surfaces (21) facing the inner peripheral surface (11) and configured to be contactable with the inner peripheral surface (11) and an inside surface (23) facing inward with respect to the radial direction; an output-side rotary member (40) disposed inside, with respect to the radial direction, of the brake shoes (20), having an opposed surface (36) provided at an outer periphery thereof and facing the inside surface (23); and an input-side rotary member (40) configured to contact the brake shoes (20) in the circumferential direction and thereby capable of imparting a rotary torque to the brake shoes (20). The brake shoe (20) has a support surface (26) disposed between the pair of brake surfaces (21) and configured to be contactable with the inner peripheral surface (11).
