A PEDESTRIAN AIRBAG ARRANGEMENT

There is proposed a motor vehicle (1) having a hood (3), a windscreen (4) and a pedestrian airbag arrangement (7). The airbag arrangement (7) has an airbag (8) defining an inflatable volume for the receipt of inflating gas and which comprises: a primary chamber (13) configured for inflation upon deployment of the airbag (8) so as to adopt an inflated position in which it stands generally upwardly from the motor vehicle (1) and extends transversely across the motor vehicle (1); and a pair of secondary chambers (14) configured for inflation upon deployment of the airbag (8) so as to adopt respective inflated positions in which they: i) extend generally rearwardly from the primary chamber (13) in spaced relationship to one another and at respective opposite sides of the motor vehicle (1); and ii) terminate adjacent respective opposite side regions (5, 6) of the motor vehicle's structure.
