Zusammenfassung:Systems 10 and methods for additively manufacturing composite parts 12 are disclosed. Systems 10 comprise at least a feedstock source 14 and a feed mechanism 18. The feedstock source 14 comprises a plurality of pre-consolidated tows 20 with each pre-consolidated tow 20 comprising a fiber tow 22 within a non-liquid binding matrix 24. In some systems 10, a tow combiner 16 receives at least a subset of the plurality of pre-consolidated tows 20 from the feedstock source 14 and combines the subset of the plurality of pre-consolidated tows 20 to define a macro tow 26. The feed mechanism 18 moves the subset of the plurality of pre-consolidated tows 20 from the feedstock source 14 and into the tow combiner 16 and moves the macro tow 26 from the tow combiner 16. Methods according to the present disclosure comprise combining a plurality of pre-consolidated tows 20 to define a macro tow 26, and dispensing the macro tow 26 in three dimensions to define a composite part 12.
