Zusammenfassung:	The invention relates to asymmetrical chain link plates for a roller-type chain for bicycles, which chain link plates can be used expediently for a chain with reduced chain width for use on chain drives with a high number of gear ratios. The required orientation of that side of the chain which has a modified outer contour of the link plates toward the inner side of the chain strand, which is formed into a chain ring by connection of the ends, is easily possible owing to the ease of distinction between the sides of the outer contours of the link plates. In a known manner, the chain link plates are designed, at the inner side of the chain ring, for engagement on the teeth of the rear pinion and of the front chain rings, whereas the chain link plates are designed, at the outer side of the chain ring, for interaction with the chain-guiding roller on the rear gearshift mechanism.
