Zusammenfassung:	Disclosed are a data reading and writing method and device. The method includes: (S102) receiving a read-write request transmitted by a service application for requesting reading-writing data stored in a virtual storage volume, where the service application is connected to the virtual storage volume through at least two paths, the virtual storage volume is a logical storage volume created on distributed blocks, the paths are paths through which the service application is connected to the virtual storage volume via gateways; and (S104) performing reading-writing on the data stored in the virtual storage volume according to the read-write request through the at least two paths. The solution solves a problem in the related art that when a single gateway fails, data in a storage volume to which the gateway is connected cannot be read/written, thereby achieving an effect that when the single gateway fails, data in the storage volume to which the gateway is connected can be read, and thus an uninterrupted service is ensured.
