Zusammenfassung:	Tire pressure checking system (6) for a vehicle for determining tire-specific parameters, comprising a tire pressure sensor (5), a tire valve, a screwable element that connects the tire pressure sensor (5) to the tire valve, and a valve nut (14) that is used for attaching the tire valve to the rim (2) and is screwed onto a threaded portion of the valve shaft; a rim-protecting ring (17) is placed over the valve shaft and is arranged between the valve nut (14) and the tire pressure sensor (5), and a shearing element that is formed on the rim-protecting ring (17) connects the rim-protecting ring (17) to the tire valve or the valve nut (14) for joint rotation therebetween up to a predefined shearing torque.
