SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR PROTECTING A PHYSICAL ASSET AGAINST A THREAT

Embodiments of the disclosure relate to systems and methods for protecting a physical asset 110 against an attack. In one exemplary embodiment, an asset protection system 130 is configured to use a monitoring system 105 to obtain performance parameters of a physical asset 110 when the physical asset 110 is in operation. The asset protection system 130 is further configured to retrieve from a database 132, one or more threat signatures 410 and to use the one or more threat signatures 410 to detect an attack upon the physical asset 110, the detection based at least in part on identifying a relationship between at least one of the threat signatures 410 and at least a portion of the performance parameters of the physical asset 110. When an attack is detected, a signal can be transmitted to a control system 115 of the physical asset 110 and/or directly to the physical asset 110, to modify an operation of the physical asset 110 in response to the attack.
