Zusammenfassung:	Device for generating electricity from a liquid flow, comprising a rotor (10) rotatable about an axis of rotation (12) and a plurality of vanes (16) extending parallel to the axis of rotation and fixed to the rotor for common rotation with the rotor, each vane (16) being pivotable about a pivot axis (17) parallel to the axis of rotation within a predetermined limited angular range. It is suggested to actively pivot the vanes (16) about the pivot axes (17) rather than passively. This may according to one aspect be achieved by a mechanical mechanism transmitting the rotation of the rotor (10) to the vanes (16) thereby pivoting the vanes about the pivot axes (17) depending on the rotational position of the rotor (10), This may for example be realized by a cam mechanism (24, 26, 28), a transmission (40), link mechanism or a combination thereof. Alternatively, the vanes (16) may be by urged about the pivot axis (17) to force the vanes into at least one rotational direction by use of an elastic element, particularly a spring (53).
