Zusammenfassung:	The invention is an auxiliary power unit (300) for aircraft, comprising: - a power section (310) supplied with fuel, - an electric generator (320), able to provide electric power, - a load compressor (330), able to provide pneumatic power, - a gearbox (340), able to adjust the different speeds of rotation needed between the power section (310) and the electric generator (320) in order to deliver solely electric, or pneumatic, or any combination of these powers used simultaneously, wherein a fire extinguishing system (250) is incorporated as a constitutive part into the auxiliary power unit (300) structure, and able to operate in discharging a flow of extinguisher agent, when a detection system detects an excessive temperature or fire in the APU compartment (200).
