| Zusammenfassung: | The invention relates to a method for calibrating an onboard unit (7) of a vehicle identification system (1) by means of a radio beacon (4), the method comprising:
emitting at least one polling message (pm i ) from the first radio beacon (4);
in the first radio beacon (4), determining a link margin (M) of a communication (8) with a first onboard unit (7) by evaluating a response message (rm i ) of the first onboard (7) unit to the polling message/s (pm i ); and
sending a configuration message (cm) from the first radio beacon (4) or a second radio beacon to the first onboard unit (7) or to a second onboard unit (7) with a same characteristic as the first onboard unit (7) to adjust a receive sensitivity or a transmit power of the first or the second onboard unit (7), respectively, to a level derived from the determined link margin (M).
