The on-board power grid (10) comprises a DC-DC converter (30) and an energy storage device; during operation of the on-board power grid (10), damage to the DC-DC converter (30) and damage to the energy storage device are acquired; a desired damage change course is given both for the DC-DC converter (30)and the energy storage device, and the on-board power grid (10) is driven to operate so that the acquired damage takes the associated target damage change course into account.
