Zusammenfassung:	There is disclosed an airbag unit (39) for a motor vehicle safety device, the unit (39) comprising an inflatable airbag (1) formed of flexible material and provided in a rolled and/or folded package (9), and a cover (35) extending around at least part of the package (9). The cover (35) comprises a first cover portion (36) and a second cover portion (37); the first cover portion (36) being located on a first side of the package (9), and at least region (26) of the second cover portion (37) being located on an opposite second side of the package (9). The second cover portion (37) is substantially flexible and is connected to or formed integrally with the first cover portion (36), and said first cover portion (6) has a predetermined stable shape and is relatively rigid in comparison to said second cover portion (37).
