The invention relates to the production and use of a cationic, fluorine-free polyurethane dispersion, which is applied on textile surfaces, tissues, nonwoven scrims, knitted fabrics, fibers, nonwovens, knits and on leather in order to significantly increase the permanence and water-repellent effect of conventional fluorine-free hydrophobizing agents.
