Zusammenfassung:	PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a data transmission device and method for simply configuring a data transmission system consisting of components having different temporal requirements.SOLUTION: A measurement instrument interface 20 is configured to receive a data packet including a position value and an auxiliary data value, and the data packet is supplied to a communication unit 30 having a processing unit and a memory unit, and the processing unit is configured to process the position value, and to output the processed position value to a control interface 21, and to store the auxiliary data value in the memory unit. The control interface 21 is configured to output the processed position value, and the auxiliary interface 22 is configured to receive an auxiliary data request command, and to output the auxiliary data value stored in the memory unit as a response to the reception of the auxiliary data request command.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
