Zusammenfassung:	A tower (4) for pivotably supporting a first end portion (31) of a gangway (3) which projects from an upper portion (48) of the tower (4) is described, the tower (4) extending up in a vertically displaceable manner from a base (11) on a floating installation or a fixed installation (1), and the tower (4) being arranged at an access facility (2) which extends up above the base (11) along at least a portion of the tower (4); the access facility (2) including at least one deck (12-15) arranged at a vertical distance above the base (11); a stairway (43), which extends inside the tower (4), being connected to at least one walkway (44) which extends from a portion (433, 434) of the stairway (43) and ends in a tower side portion (49) facing the access facility (2), the walkway (44) being arranged substantially flush with one of the decks (12-15), at least when the tower (4) is arranged in an operative, raised position.
