COILING MACHINE AND METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING COIL SPRINGS

A coiling machine (10) includes a material guide (12), first pin (13), second pin (14), pitch tool (15), cutting tool (16), heating device (17), temperature sensor (18), and controller. A material (2) continuously discharged from a tip (12a) of the material guide is bent between the first pin and the second pin to form an arc part (2a) between the first pin and the second pin. The controller select control data corresponding to the temperature of the material detected by the temperature sensor from a plurality of control data corresponding to a processing temperature. Then, the positions of the first pin and the second pin are controlled such that a radius of curvature of the arc part increases when the temperature of the material increases, and the position of the cutting tool is controlled such that a gap between the center of curvature (C1) of the arc part and the cutting tool increases.
