Zusammenfassung:	The invention relates to a safety device with a fuse and a monitoring and signaling unit, and the safety device comprises a signal spring (6) which is released when the fuse is melted and then abuts a stop element (8). In order to achieve a mechanical safety monitoring that has a high reliability, it is proposed that the signal spring (6) belongs to a release device (7) on which the stop element (8) is arranged, and by a triggering spring (14) that is released by the striking, the signal spring (6) can be moved from a holding position to a release position. When the release device (7) is in a release position, a switch (10) held by the release device (7) in a first switching state, switches to a second switching state, and the second switching state signals each of the molten fuse element. Furthermore, the invention relates to a method for sending an electric signal for triggering a protection device.
