The receiver (201) is configured to receive notifications (320) from a remote device. The display (105) is configured to provide information including notifications. The application processor (203) and the sensor hub (223) are in communication with the display (105) . The application processor (203) is configured to provide instructions for displaying full screen information at the display during a non-sleep mode (302) of the electronic device (100) . The full screen information includes a first notification associated with information received by the electronic device during the non-sleep mode (310) . The sensor hub (223) is configured to provide instructions for displaying partial screen information (610, 804, 806, 808, 810) at the display (105) during a sleep mode (306) of the electronic device (100) . The partial screen information includes a second notification (404, 405, 406, 407, 408, 416) associated with information received by the electronic device during the sleep mode (306) .
