A LAUNDRY DRYER

The present invention relates to a laundry dryer (1) comprising a body (2), a tub (3) that is disposed in the body (2), wherein the drying process is performed, an opening (4) providing access into the tub, a door (5) covering the opening (4), and a door housing (6) that is disposed on the front wall of the body (2) which surrounds the opening (4) and upon which a portion of the inner surface of the door bears. The laundry dryer (1) further comprises at least one detection means (7) that is disposed on the door (5) or the door housing (6) and that provides the measurement of the distance between the door (5) and the door housing (6), and a control unit (8) that compares the distance between the door (5) and the door housing (6) measured by the detection means (7) with a first limit distance value (Dl) predetermined by the producer and corresponding to the position wherein the door (5) is completely closed, and that controls the openness status of the door (5) according to the result of the comparison.
