According to the invention, the frame portion configured for the removable mounting of the energy storage device has an asymmetric cross section with respect to a frame center plane. An electric bicycle according to the invention has a frame portion which is configured for the removable mounting of at least one separate energy storage device, the frame portion having an asymmetric cross section with respect to a frame center plane. Furthermore, an energy storage device is disclosed, having an asymmetric cross section with respect to an energy storage device center plane.
