Zusammenfassung:The invention relates to a cold-top electric glass furnace comprising electrodes that submerge into the batch materials via the top and comprising a motorized device for horizontal movement of at least one electrode, and the process that uses it for manufacturing glass in steady-state operation. The furnace may supply a fiberizing device via a channel. The movement of the electrodes provides a better temperature homogeneity and a reduction in the wear of the electrodes.
