Zusammenfassung:An development supporting apparatus provides an alert on possibilities of interference and existence of clearance between a jig provided on a line for producing a first workpiece and a second workpiece if conveyed on the line. By executing a program, the apparatus executes a method including creating models of the first and second workpieces based on geometric data thereof, creating an enlarged jig model in which a volume of the jig is enlarged, generating a reference geometric object defined by a region where the first workpiece model and the enlarged jig model overlap, generating a comparison geometric object defined by a region where the second workpiece model and the enlarged jig model overlap, comparing volumes of the reference geometric object and the comparison geometric object, and outputting a display corresponding to a result of the comparison.
