VALVE MECHANISM FOR EXHAUST GAS RECIRCULATION ON AN INTERNAL COMBUSTION ENGINE
Previously known valve mechanisms for recirculating exhaust gas on an internal combustion engine comprise a housing (48) that has at least one intake duct (50; 52) and at least one discharge duct (56), two valve seats (60, 68) in the housing (48), and two adjustment members (62, 70) which can be syn...

Zusammenfassung: | Previously known valve mechanisms for recirculating exhaust gas on an internal combustion engine comprise a housing (48) that has at least one intake duct (50; 52) and at least one discharge duct (56), two valve seats (60, 68) in the housing (48), and two adjustment members (62, 70) which can be synchronously actuated by a joint actuator (76) and each of which is associated with one valve seat (60, 68), respectively, in order to adjust a flow area (64, 72). In order to improve the gas dynamics of the connected internal combustion engine, according to the invention, a first intake duct (50) and a second intake duct (52) that are separated by a partition (59) are formed in the housing (48), and the unobstructed flow area (64) of both intake ducts (50, 52) on the first valve seat (60) can be adjusted by changing the position of the first adjustment member (62) in relation to the first valve seat (60). In the closed state of the valve mechanism, a design of said type allows the radiator volume to be completely separated from the intake and discharge pipes. |
