HYPERVISOR-BASED ATTESTATION OF VIRTUAL ENVIRONMENTS

The invention proposes a target device configured to be attested by an appraiser by remote attestation. The target device comprises a Virtual Machine Manager, VMM, running one or more virtual machines, and is configured to receive from the appraiser an attestation request, collect virtual machine attestation information about the one or more virtual machines, generate a virtual machine integrity value based on at least part of the collected virtual machine attestation information, generate a digital signature for the VVM based on the virtual machine integrity value, and send the generated digital signature and the virtual machine attestation information to the appraiser as a response to the attestation request, so that the appraiser is able to attest the VMM and the one or more virtual machines based on the target evidence.
