Zusammenfassung:The present invention provides a positive electrode active material for a lithium ion battery that can suppress elution of metal ions or a change in a crystal structure at the time of charging and discharging, hardly deteriorates over time at the time of use, and can achieve high stability at the time of charging and discharging. The present invention is a positive electrode active material for a lithium ion battery having a coating layer composed of amorphous carbon on the surface of a positive electrode active material, in which the amorphous carbon is derived from carbon contained in an oxazine resin; in a case where the amorphous carbon is analyzed by Raman spectroscopy, a ratio of a peak intensity of a G band to a peak intensity of a D band is 1.0 or greater; an average film thickness of the coating layer is 100 nm or less; and a coefficient of variation (CV value) of a film thickness of the coating layer is 10% or less.
