Zusammenfassung:	The invention concerns a method for detecting the presence and the state of a set of traffic lights on a road scene from the processing of images captured by at least one camera installed on a motor vehicle. According to the invention, a given set of traffic lights is detected and monitored (S2, S4, S5) from images (S1) captured by a first front camera and from images (S3) captured by at least one vision camera from a plurality of vision cameras of an on-board peripheral vision system. Application to the management of the automatic stopping and restarting of an autonomous vehicle depending on the state of a set of traffic lights.
